A clinic on wheels reaches Bahraich

Bahraich · 22 July 2026

Our first mobile health van has completed 140 village visits, delivering 12,000 consultations to communities that had never seen a doctor at their doorstep.

Bahraich's remote blocks sit 40–60 km from the district hospital. For most families, a doctor's visit meant a lost day of wages and a bus fare they could not afford.

Funded by the Mobile Health Vans campaign, Unit 1 carries a physician, a nurse, basic diagnostics and a pharmacy. It follows a fixed 14-day route so villagers know exactly when to expect it.

In six months the van has screened 2,100 people for hypertension and diabetes, referred 86 cases to district hospitals, and vaccinated 640 children.

“For the first time, my mother's blood pressure is being checked every month. We no longer wait for an emergency.”
